Hi folks,
Well, I'm sitting here in my living room, huddled next to the fireplace with a blanket...sure is funny how quick the weather can change at this time of the year!
The leaves have started to fall here, and they are so beautiful! When I'm driving I have to remind myself to focus on the other cars, not the pretty leaves :-) I felt inspired to play with some leaf images, and this one jumped out at me:
This House Mouse stamp is a great image to colour since you can geet pretty artistic with the leaves, and despite that there's not too much detail to bog you down with. The background is airbrushed with some grey, blue, and sand colour. The leaf is cut out using a Spellbinders die cut which was then coloured with the airbrush. In the top right hand corner I added a piece of chipboard from my stash which is coloured with my airbrush and some recycled canvas thread tied through.
I also decorated the inside, since I wanted to use an autumn sentiment, and there was no room on the front. It sure does dress a card up when you decorate the inside!
The background is made using the faux letterpress technique, there is a tutorial on StampTV here: "Inking a Cuttlebug Folder".
The sentiment is one from Heartfelt Creations, from the set called All Seasons Tree. Added a bit of lace, and it was done!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays - Autumn
Tuesday Throwdown - Chipboard
Stampin for the weekend - Autumn inspiration
OCC - Colour combo "Beautiful fall colours"
Cute Card Thursday - Make your own (the leaf)
So on to more technical details, did you see I finally started using a watermark?! The watermark was purchased from Doodle Pantry, Laurie there makes them so pretty and they are a great price, totally recommend if you want one you go there! And my Photoshop Elements arrived yesterday, so I started playing with it--this is going to take a lot more learning than I expected! Any words of wisdom, please share!
Such a pretty card. I can totally understand the need to remind yourself about driving. I do the same when going down some of the side streets at the moment. I'm not thrilled with the snowflakes on your card though. I hate snow in the city! It's way too early!
ReplyDeleteThe inside of the card is also gorgeous. Beautiful enough to be a card front!
This is fantastic, Kristina! I definitely need to check out the tutorial, that faux letterpress technique is beautiful! Love the watermark, too!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely comments About the musical DSP -- I have had it in my stash for quite a while. Don't know the maker -- probably purchased at Michaels or Jo-Ann's.
Wow this is an awesome card , love the leaves they look like they just fell from the tree. Great coloring . I love fall too the colors are so spectacular. It's still quite warm here in the Maritimes and the leaves are just starting to change color.

This is so, so beautiful! Your colouring on those leaves is amazing. Jaw droppingly gorgeous work!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! The HM image is adorable and you colored it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card, fantastic coloring and detail.
ReplyDeleteThis card is adorable! I don't think we're going to get the pretty fall colors this year. We had such a horribly dry summer....and everything started turning "brown" (as in DRY) a while ago...and what isn't brown is still green - so I think the leaves are just going to fall without the spectacular colors happening. Boo.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Those little guys are precious and your coloring looks so realistic, the leaves just pop off the card. Love the corner accent with the twine, too. Such a fun fall card. :)
ReplyDeleteI've just spent a long time drooling over the cards in your blog: fabulous work everywhere!!! But these leaves really take the biscuit!
ReplyDeleteWOW, love the coloring on those leaves, fantastic card for this time of year.

I love this time of year, as visually it is beautiful, but I don't like the damp. This card makes me think of the beauty, and is lovely. xxx

ReplyDeleteI've contemplated a watermark but it seems like so much work.
