Winter Luminaria

I've been going through the resources section at SCS and came across this tutorial for a luminaria.  I decided that this would be a super cute project to make using some of the new stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.

A full set of instructions can be found on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  I have to tell you, this was one of the quickest and easiest projects I have made, and it looks lovely on my mantel.  I recommend you try making one of these yourself.

Now, who can tell me what a flameless candle is, or how to use this without lighting my home on fire?  I'm assuming it would be a bad idea to put a regular tea light in there.....Please leave me a comment and give me the details if you know!

Products Used on This Project
Oval nestabilities
Snowflake edge punch, sorry don't know brand!
Silver Encore Ink
Silver Glitter

Rhinestones

  2. I love it. So beautiful.

A flameless candle is a battery powered electric candle. Depening on the quality, they can be terrible (give off weird lighting or almost no lighting) or so realistic that most people won't know they're fake without actually picking it up. I have several because of little hands.

  10. This is beautiful! I am book marking it for ideas for Christmas.

Flameless candles look like little tea lights (sort off) but have a bulb and battery. They give off a nice glow with out the fire hazard. I have also seen them recently where they look like pillar candles. Near me, I have purchased them at Walmart and Target.

  13. Beautiful home decor! Flameless candles are battery opperated, so there is no flame. A lot of people also use them in Halloween Pumpkins, I know in the past I've found them at my local Dollar Tree.

  14. This is a gorgeous creation. The colors, wonderful details and embellishments look fabulous. Flameless candles are the best -- no worries about fires as they are battery operated. The small bulb flickers and glows. I purchased some at Michaels.

  15. wonderful! Love the silver flourishes! Yes, like the other ladies before me said - flameless candle is a way to go - I got some in dollar store (they should be in the same section as regular candles). Mine look like little tea light candles.
