Challenge card - Written inspiration

Today's challenge at Paper Sundaes is a fun one to get you thinking of all your favorite books.  The theme is to make a card based on written inspiration--using a book or poem to inspire what you create.

I decided to make a card based on Heidi by Johanna Spyri.  With summer coming, I liked the idea of making a card about a young girl who loves nature and spends her time in mountainous meadows.

This weeks sponsor is Spesch, and I've used one of their images for this card, called Kei with flower.  I coloured her hair brown, like Heidi's, and used bright colours that I like to imagine she wore.

I hope you play along with us, I can't wait to see what written inspiration you choose and how it turns into a card :-)

  1. Sweet card . love how you did the frame and really like the embossing folder --is that CB? Sure captures the theme of the challenge .

  2. Love the embossing. Haven't seen that one before. The coredinations paper is wonderful. I love the slightly distressed look. So elegant.

  3. it's adorable Kristina! great embossing and I love how you created the meadow!

  4. Oh how wonderful is this gorgeous card. What a wonderful job with the story and the card. Great inspiration.

  5. Adorable card! That image is so the huge eyes!

  6. Lovely card and what a perfect image for it! The embossing really makes it pop! :)

  7. This is one of my favourite cards! I love how you embossed the background which fits so perfectly with the theme & image on the card. Love the oval cut-out and the lace is fabulous!
